New Amazon MP3 Widgets – Gordon Goodwin Samples

I recently was out mp3 player shopping with one of my daughters and after looking at a bunch of them, she decided on NOT getting an Apple Ipod.

One of the main reasons I thought this was a good decision was that she is not locked into using Itunes to get MP3 downloads. Itunes is nice, but when Amazon came out with the ability to purchase mp3s quickly and easily (and not copy-protected) I found this option to be much simpler than dealing with Itunes software.

I purchase stuff on Amazon all the time, not only for the selection they have on millions of products, but because it is so damn easy to purchase from the site. Searching is easy, and the one-click purchase option takes about 10 seconds to finish a transaction.

Recently they just introduced customizeable “widgets” of mp3 selections that you can place on any web page. You can add as many tunes (even the same tune from a variety of artists) as you would like to the widget.

I thought I would test one of these out with some selections from Gordon Goodwin’s big band from LA. I have always really admired Gordon’s writing, and the big band is always chocked full of the best players around today.

Check out the widget below for Gordon’s band. I think this is really cool to be able to check out mp3s quick and easy, then purchase for less than a buck. This way you don’t have to buy an entire CD if you just want to get an mp3 of one chart.

Use your mouse to navigate around the widget itself. Let me know what you think via comments below.
