My name is Bryan Chauncey Mays. I am a composer, arranger, author, and entertainer. I write music for many different styles and genres. I write for big bands, combos (6to 10 pieces), brass quartets, brass bands, orchestras, trombone ensembles, and others. I have recently published a book entitled The Journey of Choncey Conch. This book is about the Caribbean and features brass instruments with traditional songs and instruments with some original compositions and arrangements. I have written a film score for this book and I am hoping to turn it into an animated film. I have written many books and music that introduce traditional and orchestral instruments to students of all ages. I have many projects listed on ASCAP’s Colloborator’s Corner including an idea for a talk show and a Broadway musical entitled Idle Gossip. This show would feature a big band three nights per week and a combo two nights per week with music from the Jazz, Swing, Latin, Calypso-Reggae, Rock-Soul genres.
